Mr. Harvey Sconiers, 72, a beloved son, brother, husband, and friend, who resided in Michigan City, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, October 29, 2020. Harvey was born on Aug. 14, 1948, in Chancellor, Alabama to the late Samuel Harvey and Ida Mae Sconiers.
Harvey, baptized at Michigan City Christian Church, was a God-fearing man who loved God and his family. Harvey graduated from Central High School in 1968. Shortly afterward, he entered the U.S Army where he served and was Honorably Discharged. Harvey was always a hard worker, spending many years in foundry and maintenance work. Harvey’s passion included collecting and watching many, many action movies.
His surviving family members left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 22 years, Kathy of Michigan City, Indiana; his son, Harvey Jr. of Inglewood, California; seven siblings: Wallace (Cheryl) Sconiers of San Diego, California, Annie (Melvin) Tardy and Curtis Sconiers of South Bend, Indiana, Fred (Valerie) Sconiers of Phoenix, Arizona, Georgia Bird and Elma Quinn of South Bend, Indiana and John Sconiers of Phoenix, Arizona; four step-daughters; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family members.
Harvey was preceded in death by his father and mother, Samuel and Ida Mae Sconiers; his brother, Ulysses; and his nephew, Alexander Gill.
