Henry Jenkins III Obituary

Henry Jenkins III, affectionately known as “Beco”, departed this earthly life on Sunday, September 8, 2019 at Indiana University Health Center in Indianapolis, after a brief illness.

Beco was born December 31, 1980 to Linda (Rios) Webb and Henry Jenkins Jr. in South Bend, Indiana. He was always so full of life that you couldn’t help but have a good time with him. Without a doubt, family was the most important thing to him because he understood that being family meant you would always love and be loved for your entire life.

Perhaps that is why he was so caring and loveable – he loved everyone and everyone loved him. He genuinely cared about people and would do anything he could for anyone who needed help. He was warm, fun, and down-to-earth. His smile could light up a room.

Whenever you were in Beco’s company, there was never a dull moment. As a child, he was mischievous, which probably helped developed his sense of humor and skill as a jokester. If Beco was present, you knew you were going to laugh, and laugh hard.

Although he couldn’t cook, he loved to eat and always wanted to know what you were cooking.

He loved his old-school music and was what some might call “an old soul.” The realist in him allowed him to look at things as they are and deal with them in a practical manner.

As a certified welder and custom cabinet maker, he was an advocate for skilled trades. He understood that the world needed both college-educated people and skilled-trade people, like carpenters, plumbers, pipefitters and welders. He believed it was important for each individual to follow the path that would lead to happiness.

Left to cherish his memories are his mother; fiancee, Tomiko; five daughters: Au’Zhanae Gracie, Ayana Lynn, Nazhyia Monae, Khloe Elizabeth, and Brook-lyn Elayne; a son, Henry Zhon’te; four sisters: Patrice Jenkins, Jacques Black, Angelic Taylor, and Melissa Taylor; three brothers: Timothy Jenkins, Rahjean Taylor, and Kevin Arnold; stepfather, Jimmy Lee Webb; and a host of other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Henry Jenkins Jr.; maternal grandmother, Alberta Guevar; and paternal grandparents, Gracie M. and Henry Jenkins Sr.

The memory of Beco will forever be in our hearts.
