Herman Winston Steed

Mr. Herman Winston Steed, 70, of South Bend, Indiana passed away October 14, 2024, at his residence. Herman was born November 22, 1953, in Hayti, Missouri to George and Lena Steed. He accepted Jesus Christ at the early age of 8 years and continued to follow Christ until death. 

He had various jobs throughout his life as he worked 30 years foe GM, worked security at Indiana University South Bend, University of Notre Dame, and South Bend Transpo.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Debra Steed, his parents, George and Lena Steed, seven brothers, Elandus Ford, Clarence Jones, Martin Jones, Robert Jones, Larry Wayne Steed, James E. Jones and Freddie Steed and one sister, Delores Steed.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his two son's Christopher Michael Steed, George Kenneth Steed, one daughter, LeLena Nieshell Steed. Three sisters, Ann Woodson of Germany, Becky Stevens and Betty Steed of South Bend, IN, and one grandson, Tyrin Westley Steed.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted with Alford's Mortuary.
