Hubert Ingram Obituary

On February 16, 2024, the heavens welcomed Hubert H. Ingram, a loving, smart, funny and loyal soul whose light shone brightly in all he did. Born on August 6, 1941, in Geneva, AL, Hubert's journey was marked by resilience, joy, and unwavering dedication to those he loved and to the causes he held dear. His life echoed the verse, "Well done, good and faithful servant" (Matthew 25:23), a testament to his Christian faith that guided him through life's ups and downs. Hubert's life was a tapestry of service and sacrifice.

His intelligence and dedication led him to become the first Black Police Officer in Niles, MI, serving with honor and distinction for 29 years. He was a beacon of change, breaking barriers and setting a new precedent for future generations. Before his commendable tenure with the Police Department, Hubert served as a Gunnery Sergeant in the Marine Corps for 23 years, demonstrating his loyalty and commitment to his country. Beyond his professional accomplishments, Hubert was a man of family and faith. The bonds he formed were as strong as steel, and his love for his family was the cornerstone of his life. His laughter was infectious, his wisdom profound, and his love boundless.

Hubert was the beloved brother of John Ingram, who survives him. He now joins in eternal rest his parents, Eddie and Flora Ingram, and his siblings, Edward Ingram, Joyce Reardon, Marvin Ingram, Barbara Ingram, and Patricia Dixon. As we remember Hubert, we celebrate a life well-lived, filled with love, laughter, and a commitment to service. His legacy will be forever engraved in the hearts of those who had the privilege to know him. In memory of Hubert, we invite you to share your stories, pictures, and memories on his memorial page. May his life inspire us all to live with love, serve with dedication, and laugh with joy.
