Jabari Jamar Wills Obituary

Mr. Jabari Wills, born July 2, 1991, in South Bend, IN, departed this life peacefully at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in the afternoon of Thursday, March 26, 2020.

Those who knew Jabari, even just a little, lost a shining light in their lives. He gave the best hugs!! They were always tight and lasted long enough to express his love. If you were upset about anything, all you needed was a hug from "Bari Dude." His smile will be an everlasting joy. It was bright and you knew there was laughter behind it because as he entered the room you knew he had something crazy to say and it was all out of love and he wanted to see YOU smile!!

Jabari loved to play video games, basketball, and watch the Notre Dame Football team play/beat all of their opponents; whether he was at the game, tailgating, or being somewhere a T.V. had live-action. He also had a strong passion for music. One of his favorite musical artists was Nipsey Hussle (may he rest in peace) as well as YG and Ty Dolla Sign. His favorite shoes are Vans and clothes by Nike, as long as the clothing was red or had red in it (lol). But spending time with his family and friends was way more important. Especially at Bar-b-ques, no one could not imagine him not being there, whether it be him grilling, trying to eat up everything (and not gain a pound), to cracking jokes, regardless, time with everyone that was there was well spent.

His daughters were his pride and joy. Ja’Leah, pride, (his first), Jailey, joy, (his second). He had no idea of how to be a father, but, once his instincts kicked in, he became the best Father he could be to them both. He loved them with his whole heart. If he had one last hour to spend with anybody, he would choose them.

Jabari will be missed everyday by his loving Mother, Janice (James Jr.) Plump; Father, John Wills Jr.; Sisters: Jacinda Wills, Jazmin Wills, all of South Bend, IN, and one brother, Demarco Wills of Phoenix, AZ; Daughters: Ja’Leah Wills and Jailey Wills, of South Bend, IN; Grandfather, James Newhouse Jr., of South Bend, IN; Grandmother, Leah Wills, of Indianapolis, IN; Uncles: Melvin Holland, of South Bend, IN, and Norfleet Powers, of Elkhart, IN; Aunts: Rebecca Newhouse, MaryAnn (James) Wardlow, Ella Lewis, Ardienia (Michael) Wilson, all of South Bend, IN, Betty (Marcus) Seward, and Lizzy McNary, both of Indianapolis, IN; Nephews: Marquise Winters and Tristan Winters, both of South Bend, IN; his life partner, Tytyanna Redding, of South Bend, IN; along with a host of relatives, and friends. Two very special young men whom he called his brothers: Nick Knarr and Oliver Owens, both of South Bend, IN.

Jabari is preceded in death by his Grandmother, Mary Luten Newhouse; Aunt, Iradella Holland; and Grandfather, John Acy Wills Sr.

~I am home in heaven, dear ones; oh, so happy and so bright! There is a perfect joy and beauty, in the everlasting light. All the pain and grief is over, every restless tossing passed; I am now at peace forever, safely home in heaven at last.

There is work still waiting for you, so you must not idly stand; do it now, while life remaineth, you shall rest in God’s own land. When that work is all completed, He will gently call you home; Oh, the rapture of that meeting, oh, the joy to see you come!~
