James Chatman

January 6, 1952 – December 6, 2023

INDIANAPOLIS, IN – James Odell Chatman, 71, of South Bend, Indiana peacefully passed away on Wednesday, December 6, 2023.  James was born on January 6, 1952, in Jackson, Tennessee to Lue Willie and William Chatman, both preceded him in death.

James retired from Raco Inc. (Hubbell) after 25 years of service. James married the love of his life, Linda Chatman, in 1978. Together, they had three daughters: Angie Jamison-Moody (Cardies) of South Bend, Indiana, and Jeanette and Antionette Chatman of Indianapolis, Indiana. James had one son, Jason Jamison (Faundala) of North Carolina. He is also survived by two granddaughters, Jacquise Mickens-Barnett (Demetrious) and Jaeden Jamison and three grandsons, Jami Jamison, Jamari Jamison, and Jason Jr. Jamison. Four great grandchildren, Zaniyah Ware, Damarion Barnett, Derrion Barnett, and Demetrion Barnett, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
