Mr. James Fields, 86, of Elkhart departed this life peacefully on Tuesday February 7, 2023.
James Fields was born in Trenton, TN on Dec 11, 1936 to Mattie and Robert Fields. James Married Imogene Horton and to this union they had three children, Dwight Fields (deceased), David Fields, and Ella Mary Fields (deceased) all of Elkhart IN.
James was a very quiet and kind hearted man. He loved to fish, hunt, play softball, going to church and spending time with his family.
James was a member of Agape MBC. He retired from the Elkhart Foundry in 2002. He was a member of the Minority Merchant Softball team.
James leaves to cherish his son David (Ruby) Fields, grandson David Fields Jr, great granddaughters Sage and Sienna Fields, brother John Fields, and sister Mary Davis.
He was proceeded in death by his wife Imogene Fields, parents Mattie and Robert Fields, children Dwight and Ella Mary Fields, granddaughter Davonda Wiley, 4 brothers and three sisters.
Services for Mr. Fields will be held on Saturday February 18, 2023; 12 Noon at Zion Missionary Church, 1135 E. Hively Street, Elkhart, Indiana, 46517. Friends may visit with the family an hour prior.
