James Earl Mitchell Jr.

James Earl Mitchell, Jr., 42, of South Bend, IN, passed away Saturday, August 11, 2018 in South Bend, IN. 

James was born May 5, 1976 in South Bend, IN, to the union of James Earl, yet living, and Patricia Ann (Wallace) Mitchell of whom preceded him in death.

James attended Clay High School. James was a man with a heart of gold; his passions were working and helping others. The children loved J.J., including family and the Vision Day Care Kids. He was a member of Greater New Vision Church where he loved to play drums. He had a smile that would light up the room. He touched so many peoples' hearts.

Survivors left to cherish his memory include his loving wife, Jori (Dixon) Mitchell; together children, Jamiya Mitchell, Brandon Mitchell, Marcel Dixon, Eric Dixon, and Richard Dixon; grandchildren, Elijah, Davion, Lil' Eric, Eternity, and Enijah; siblings, Theresa (Joshua) Jephetar, Tinisha Mitchell, Michael Mitchell, Richard Mitchell, and Issac (LeAnn) Mitchell; his father, James Earl (Cynthia) Mitchell, Sr.; one special uncle and two special aunties, Billy (Rosie) Mitchell, Sr. and Debra Jenkins; special people in his life, Joshua James, Alex Watson, Jr., Bettie Williams, and Jean Nickie Williams, along with a host of other relatives and friends.

Services will be at Christian Life Center on Saturday, August 25, 2018 at 11:00 a.m., with viewing from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Christian Life Center.
