James Thomas

James Oscar Thomas was born in South Bend, Indiana on Friday, July 13, 1941 to Claverine and I. T. Thomas and was called Home to the Lord and his beloved lost loved ones on Sunday, February 5, 2023 in Mishawaka, Indiana. 

He was a musician and loved playing the conga drums. He worked in the entertainment industry, the optical field and occasionally in carpentry and painting houses. He also spent a number of years teaching music at the Boys & Girls Club of South Bend. 

James, also known as Jimmy, Jim, James St. Thomas and Dad enjoyed music and fishing. He is survived by his brother, Richard and his sisters, Annette and Jeanette; his children, SuJames, Clevereen, Joseph and Katlyn. His step-children, Ashley and Jordan; his grandchildren, Jaydelle, Rydell, Makena, Curtis and Kingston; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and assorted relatives. 

He is loved and missed and wished much peace.

A celebration of life will be held on July 15, 2023
