Jannie L. Graham

Mrs. Jannie L. Graham departed this life on Tuesday, February 18, 2020, at 9:41 a.m., at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Mishawaka, Indiana. Jannie was born in Okolona, Mississippi on September 17, 1940, to Jettie and Bettie (Gates) Gunn.

Jannie graduated from Washington High School. On June 16, 1962, she married James Graham. To this union two children were born: Victoria (Leroy Lloyd) Johnson and Angela Trotter.

Jannie worked for Martin’s Supermarket for 27 years as the Seafood Manager at the Western Avenue location. Jannie was a member of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church and had been since its organization. She was a member of Odessa Chapter #28 Order of Eastern Star, Wabash Assembly #68 Order of Golden Circle and Mahomet Court #93 Daughters of Isis.  Her love for God and her family was shown daily.  She had a way of making everyone who spent time with her feel special by being a great listener and then giving great advice. Her endearing smile would light up a room.  Jannie will be missed by all who knew her.  

Jannie is survived by her two daughters Victoria and Angela, her Sister Doris Gunn, a God Daughter, Minnie “Peaches” Conigan; Special Grandchildren: Daretia Williams, Danielle Williams, Terrence Trotter II, Sean Trotter, Te’Nyraa Trotter; Sisters-In-Law, Annie Moore, Josie Graham, Wauline Graham, and Janet Bowens along with a host of other family and friends. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; Jettie and Bettie Gunn, her Husband, James Graham; Brothers, Clifford Bowens, Mozell Bowens, James Q. Gunn and Alonzo Gunn.
