Jerry Jerome Chambers, 56, of South Kenwood, in South Bend, Indiana, passed away at Memorial Hospital South Bend, on Monday, October 12, 2020. Jerry was born in Chicago, Illinois, on, February 2, 1964, to Jerry Jerome Nathan and Doris (Chambers) Hennings.
He worked as a Chef for more than 20 years and moved to South Bend, Indiana in 2015. His passions were cooking, stepping, and listening to music.
Jerry was preceded in death by his father, Jerry Jerome Nathan; sister, Lucille Hennings; brothers: Cornellius Hennings and Leslie Nathan; the love of his life and mother of his children, Evette Smith; grandson, Kenny Chambers; grandparents, Verlene and Perry Johnson; and nephew, Rahem Mason.
Survivors left to cherish his memory include his mother, Doris Hennings of South Bend, Indiana; two daughters: Ashante (Gregory) Dennard and Shauntel Chambers, both of Danville, Illinois; three sons: Jerry J. (Christy) Chambers of South Bend, Indiana, Jeremy Chambers and Solomon Chambers, both of Chicago, Illinois; 18 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; three sisters: Veronica (Donald) Hambrie of Illinois, Yolanda Mason and Nicole Hennings, both of South Bend, Indiana; brothers: Derrick Nathan of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Kenyatta Nathan of Gary, Indiana, Saul (Yolanda) Chambers and Leo Chambers, both of Chicago, Illinois, Corey Hennings, and Rudy Hennings, both of South Bend, Indiana; 36 nieces and nephews, a host of aunts, uncles, other relatives, and friends.
