Jessie Richardson

Mrs Jessie Richardson 92 who resided on South Chicago Street earned her wings on Sunday November 13, 2022 at HealthwinHospital South Bend IN. 

Jessie was born to the union of Upon and Bessie Mae (Martin) Porter who both preceded her in death. Jessie attended South Bend Schools.  She was united to the love of her life Herman Richardson June 28th 1947. From their union three sons were born Maurice L. Richardson, Earl E. Richardson and Herman L. Richardson Jr. Jessie was employed at Memorial Hospital for many years. Jessie was a member of Mount Carmel Missionary Baptist Church where she served.  Jessie loved family Bar B Ques. She could read a book in one day  and she loved board games. Jessie was a very private person who spoke softly at all times. Jessie will be truly missed. 

Jessie was preceded in death by her parents Upon Porter and Bessie May Porter, two sons Maurice and Herman Jr, a grandson Earl Richardson Jr and a granddaughter Valerie Richardson, two sisters Rose McCullough and Mary (Benny) Pittman, a brother Donald Porter and a brother in law Pastor Henry L Giden.

Those left to cherish her memories is her son Earl (Vicki)Richardson, seven grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren, a sister Johnnie Mae Giden and many nieces and nephews.

Services honoring the life, love, labor, and legacy or Mother Richardson will be held on Monday November 21, 2022, 12 Noon at Mount Carmel Missionary Baptist Church, 1620 S. St. Joseph Street, South Bend, IN 46613. Friends may visit with the family at 11:30 A.M. Reverend Ricardo Taylor will bring the word. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted with Alford's Mortuary Inc.
