John D. Ulmer Sr. (Blue) was born on November 25, 1948, to John Henr Daniels and Callie B. Conway in Panola, Alabama. John D, departed this life suddenly on June 30, 2024, doing what he loved, driving.
He was known for playing the latest music. Once he gets in the car humming until he finds the right playlist you're sure to know that on any given day or time you could see him driving down the street slowly but surely, he gets to where he's going. He's the very reason why all his grandkids are lovers of music, especially the girls the passenger princesses. John D. had a passion for helping others getting them to wherever they needed to be.
John was preceded in death by his father, John H. Daniels, his wife Atta Mae Ulmer, son Dion Ulmer and daughter Tracy Ulmer. He leaves to cherish his memory and legacy, son John D. Ulmer Jr. (Rachel) of South Bend, IN, and daughter Veronica Gilbert-Jones (Alberto/AJ) of Mishawaka, IN., 3 brothers, Frank Jones of South Bend, IN., Wiley Hill of Saint Louis, MO., and Frank Conway of Mobile, AL., 4 sisters, Willie Mae Brown of South Bend, IN., Laura McBrayer of Kansas City, MO., Georgia Ann Brandy Shuqualak of Miss, and Callie Ulmer of Charlston, MO. John D leaves behind 12 grandchildren, Shyeesha (Sidney), Robert, Eddy, Tatyana, Tashawn, Latavia, JaQwan, Jashuana, Jakeem, Teriah and Trevian all of South Bend, who gave John D 11 great grandchildren. A host of nephews, nieces and family. He leaves behind his card buddies Manny, Danny, Gerald and John Lee whom he was very close to. Him and John Lee were almost inseparable.
Those who passed before John D, are his parents, son, Dion, grandson, Dereion, wife Atta Mae and daughter Tracy. John D will be missed so much. He wasn't one to dwell on things or be unhappy. So, in honor of John D, we ask that you, "love one another and stick together". "Live your live unapologetically and hold yourself accountable. Don't ever allow anyone to change your character" and "get your license".
