Joseph Walter Boney Jr, (Sonny) was born on September 21, 1956, in South Bend, Indiana. Passed away on June 10, 2023, in St Joseph hospital. Joseph, a resident of Mishawaka, Indiana, touched the lives of many people with his warm heart and unforgettable spirit. Joseph (Sonny) faced many challenges throughout his life, but he never allowed them to define him. He was a beacon of hope and inspiration for others facing similar struggles. His unwavering faith and courage allowed him to overcome any obstacle, and he used these experiences to offer support to those around him. Despite his disability, Sonny was self-sufficient in so many amazing ways. Rather it was driving his wheelchair from downtown to Frankies barbecue, sharing his faith with others, going in his wheelchair to pay his respects to every one of his friend's funerals, visiting those who was sick in all types of weather. Sonny was for many years president of the resident council, a position he took very seriously; making sure every resident was taken care of to the highest standards. He will be missed. Joseph (Sonny) is survived two sisters, Penny Boney of Indianapolis In, Judy (Elmo) Rockett of Jacksonville, FL and one brother Jeffrey Boney of Indianapolis, In. A special daughter Takisha Robertson of Jacksonville, Ar. Joseph (Sonny) was proceeded in death by both parents Joseph Boney Sr. and Luella Boney, A sister Joyce Lolmaugh and a brother Jerome Boney. And a host of nieces and nephews. His memory will live on through the countless lives he touched and the indelible mark he left on those of us who had an opportunity to get to know him.
