Josephine Donald

It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Josephine P. Donald, known affectionately as Jo or JOJO, or even Jose to some, on the 4th of May ,2025. Born in Chicago, IL, on the 4th of June, 1966. Josephine was the embodiment of love, support, charisma, and spirit. Residing in Goshen, Indiana at her time of departure, Josephine was a beacon of resilience and strength, having lived previously in Gary, IN and South Bend, IN. A loving mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt, her memory will forever reside in the hearts of those she touched.

Josephine is survived by her four daughters, Jevette, Robin, Sharon, Asia; and her only son, Anthony; her son-in-law, Darnell Talley; her two brothers, Archie Jr. and Terrel; her beloved niece, Christina. Josephine leaves behind 14 grandchildren, proud grandmother of Jeremiah, Sofia, Angel, Alexandria, Azelyah, Ava, Princton, Messiah, David, Amilliyon, Asani, A'Mazi, A'Munie and Naomi.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Mertis Donald, her husband, Robert Jr. Monger, and her siblings, Ernest Mullins, Cassandra Donald, and Venita Robinson. She Chaired the MASK. Attending every meeting for NA for the past three years making her 3 years of sobriety. Josephine was a dedicated home and healthcare worker, bringing her supportive nature to her community. Off duty, she was an avid angler, a passionate collector of plants, a spirited seeker of unique trinkets for her grandchildren, and a daily reader of the Word.

Josephine's charismatic personality was a magnet to those around her, drawing them into her world of compassion and faith. It was often said of Josephine, in the words of Maya Angelou, "People will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel." She made everyone feel loved, valued and appreciated.
