With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Juanita L. Lee, a beloved mother, sister, and friend who touched the lives of so many. Born on November 19, 1938, in Marks, Mississippi, Juanita lived a life that was rich in love, faith, and service. She departed from us on January 31, 2025, leaving a legacy that will forever be remembered and cherished by all who knew her.
Juanita was a beacon of strength, resilience, and grace. Her life was a testament to the power of devotion and hard work. Juanita was deeply spiritual and dedicated to her faith; she was a devoted member of the Israel of God Church/Bible study in Stone Mountain, Georgia. Her faith was the guiding light of her life, providing comfort, strength, and an unwavering sense of purpose.
She is survived by her children, Darnell (LaTina) Lee of South Bend, IN, Anita and Odie Lee both of Benton Harbor, MI, Sharon Lee of Kent, MI, Danny Lee of College Park, GA, and Terry Lee of Kalamazoo, MI, 25 grandchildren, 99 great grandchildren, and a host of great great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Leola and Prentis Darden; her sons Odie James Lee and Darrick Lee; and her siblings, Gertrude (John) Gray, Lucille (Etoy) Duncan, Bessie (Edward) Jackson, Christine (William) Davis, Leola (James) Thompson, Hoover (Marie) Darden, Printes Jr. (Robertha), Ambrose (Emma) Darden, and Willie Darden.
