Judith Bowen Obituary

Judith Ann Bowen was born to Princess Bowen May 24, 1952 in Mound City, Illinois, to which she was the younger sister to Arnold Bowen.

After the passing of her mother she was adopted Leola and Johnnie Young. She then was the younger sister of Floria Lee. After the passing of her adoptive parents she moved along with her sister to South Bend, Indiana at the age of 16. She then went to Riley High School and IUSB. Judith was very ambitious and proud of all her achievements. She was always happy to give advice and to help others. Always profound with her words.

After schooling, Judith went on her employment adventures; 1st Source Bank, Work Force Development (South Bend and Elkhart offices), Saint Joseph Hospital Oncology Department, part-time waitress at Dee and Ken’s, and Primerica Inc. of Elkhart. But her most proud moment was when she became her own boss as a traveling Notary. She never forgot where she came from and whom she served. She was both comical and serious in the same tone. If you didn’t know her before the conversation you certainly knew her after.

She always had so many roles she could perform, an electrician, handy person, but her favorite was decorating and making her own creations that were beautiful when she finished.

Judy is survived by one son Michael (Angela) Bowen of South Bend, a brother Arnold (Sarah) Bowen of California, four grandchildren Shawna Bowen, and Insha Chandler both of South Bend, Armon Bowen and Cantravies Hartshaw both of Tennessee. Seven great grandchildren Jelayah, JE’Kari, Janiya, Brielle, Emani, Morgan, and Cameron. Cousins Patricia Holmes Lottie and Charles Holmes. Judith is also survived by Eartha Finley, Doris Brown, Dorothy Avance, Wiley (Boone) Wright, Marge MuMaw, Marcia Loose, Marshal Kelly, Michael Martin, Toney Martin, and family so many far and near.

Judith was preceded in death by her mother Princess Bowen, adoptive parents Leola and Johnnie Young, her sister snd brother in law Floria Lee and Robert Jones, Rudy Fennessee (Michael’s Father), cousins Pamela Holmes, Alita Greene Plump, Chris Vanamee and Linda Moore.
