With profound sorrow, we announce the passing of Ladale W. Reid, a beloved family member and friend, who left us on November 6th, 2024. Born in South Bend, Indiana on September 16th, 1968, Ladale, A.K.A. Shaylee, Shaquita, Ham ma, Dae Dae, and Deetra, enriched the lives of those around him. Ladale was always the life of the party, he was hilarious, funny and full of life. He was a busybody that could never sit down and had a “LOUD”, “LOUD” voice to match. You could definitely hear him before you seen him. Although he was loud, he also had a kind, generous and giving side to those he loved.
Ladale spent 40 fulfilling years as a chef, demonstrating his creativity and passion for his craft in the kitchens of numerous restaurants in South Bend and Indianapolis. LaDale displayed many talents and hobbies, including, entertaining, dancing, performing, playing cards and shopping. He had a creative eye for interior design and fashion, kept an immaculate house and could cook his butt off. He was truly one of a kind for sure. More than anything, Ladale cherished spending time with his friends and family, who were the most important part of his life. His love for his family was selfless and permeated every aspect of his life. As a fervent member of the Baptist community and devoted congregant at Fervent Prayer Ministries under Pastor James W. Johnson, Ladale loved the Lord.
Ladale is survived by his siblings, Cassandra (DeRon) Phillips, Jolanda (Derick) Austin, Jeanette Morris, Step Siblings, Tijuana, Carlis, and Bryant Morris, of Seattle Washington. Four nephews, Timothy, Jeffrey Malcolm, D’Angelo. Three nieces, Danielle, Kiara, Nyla. Ten great nieces and five great nephews and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert Reid Sr. and Addie L. Morris, Stepfather, John B. Morris, his brothers Steven Holt and Albert Reid Jr., and his grandparents Bessie Lawrence and Eddie Holt.
His celebration of life will be held on Friday, November 15th, 2024, at 10:00am EST at Alford's Mortuary, located at 1222 Napier Street, South Bend, Indiana, 46601.
As we remember Ladale, we encourage all who knew him to share their memories and upload photos to his memorial page, as a testament to his vibrant life and the joy he brought to so many. His spirit will live on in the cherished memories we hold in our hearts.
