Laverne Jean Smith Rice passed away June 28, 2019 in Indianapolis, Indiana. Laverne was born April 3, 1956 in South Bend, Indiana, to Moses and Pearl (Cross) Smith who both preceded her in death; along with siblings: Willie Cross, Joan Smith, Doris Smith and Moses Smith Jr.
Survivors left to cherish her memory include her husband, Robert Rice; her loving dog, Sparkel; six sisters: Margaret Jamison, Barbara Neal, Shirley (Michael) Warren, Carolyn Smith, Darlene Smith and Yolanda (Ebonique) Lott; two brothers: A.D. (Barbara) Cross and Morris (Linda) Smith; along with other relatives and friends.
