Linda Avance Obituary

Linda Gail Avance was born on November 20, 1955, in Parkin, Arkansas, to Willie (preceded in death) and Lenora Mason. From the very beginning, Linda carried a light that would touch countless lives.

In 2007, she married the love of her life, Micheal Avance, who survives her. Their bond was one filled with love, laughter, and playful competition—especially when it came to card games, where he was both her rock and her favorite rival.

Linda leaves behind a beautiful legacy through her children, who loved her beyond measure: her son, Antonio Jones, and her daughters, Linnisha Gilbert, Linda Pates Jr., and La Tangela Avance. She was also a proud and loving grandmother to Brandon Cosey, Leilani Broadway, and Bryce Maurer-Jones, who brought her endless joy.

She is lovingly remembered by her sister, Marilyn Allen, and her brothers, Milton (Brenda) Allen, Ricky Mason, James Mason, and Wiley (Keiaonna) Phillips. She also leaves behind her cherished aunts, Dale Kelly and Lady B. Staggers; her dear best friend, Linda Winston of Portland, Oregon; a host of special stepchildren; and a wide circle of friends and extended family who were blessed to know her.

Linda dedicated her life to serving others through her work in the home health care field. Her heart was full of compassion, and she found joy in helping anyone she believed was in need. Whether she was visiting the casino, playing bingo, enjoying tennis, dancing, or simply spending time with family and friends, Linda brought energy, laughter, and warmth wherever she went.

Laughter followed Linda in every room she entered. She had a way of making people feel seen, loved, and uplifted. To many, she was more than a friend—she was a mother figure, a confidant, and a constant source of encouragement. Her spirit was vibrant, her love was genuine, and her kindness was unforgettable.

Linda will be deeply missed, but her legacy of love, joy, and service will continue to live on in all who knew her.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to everyone who loved, supported, and shared in Linda’s life. If you had the blessing of knowing her, even briefly, you were touched by something truly special—and we are certain it left a positive mark on your heart.

Arrangements are forthcoming.
