Linda Jean Gregory

Linda Jean Gregory, age 66, passed away on April 19, 2024, at home. Linda was born on October 4, 1957, to the union of Courtney L. Burdine and stepfather William Burdine Sr.  Linda leaves to cherish her memory, two sisters, Mary D. Gregory, Cassandra K. Burdine, three brothers, Donald L. Gregory, John E. Gregory and Leonard (Misty) Burdine. Nieces, Tonya C. Gregory, Latisha Humphrey, Larinda Burdine and the other nieces and great nieces and nephews, long life partner, Robert Gamble. Linda lived a life filled with profound kindness, and a unique sense of humor that could lighten even the darkest of rooms.

As a child, Linda was a member of New Testament Missionary Baptist Church in South Bend, IN. She attended Linden Elementary and graduated from LaSalle High School. Linda Gregory started working at the age of 13 doing odd jobs. When she turned 18, she worked at various factories and worked with special needs children. She also worked in nursing homes as a dietary aid. She had a love for Wheel of Fortune and Price is Right, a real liking to potatoes, and BBQ that made family gatherings all the more memorable. 

Linda was deeply loved by her family. Linda was preceded in death by her parents,
William and Courtney Burdine Sr., her sisters, Demetria Burdine, Trina Burdine, Evelyn Gregory, and brothers, Ronald Burdine and William Burdine Jr. 

A Homegoing Celebration will be held in Linda’s honor on Saturday, May 4, 2024, at 8:00 am EDT at Alford's Mortuary, located at 1222 Napier Street, South Bend, Indiana, 46601. We invite all who knew Linda to join us in celebrating her beautiful life.
