With profound sorrow, we announce the passing of Lue Jarrett, a woman of unmatched spirit and endless joy, on July 15, 2023. Born on June 28, 1932, in Hayti, Missouri, Lue lived an incredible 91 years and left an indelible mark on all those fortunate enough to cross her path. Known widely as the 'Dancing Lady,' Lue's passion for dance was infectious, lighting up any room she entered and leaving a lasting impression on everyone she met. Her boundless energy and love for life were as captivating as her dance moves, and she carried her title with pride and joy. Lue dedicated a major part her of her life to the Spiritual Israel Church and His Army, where she was an active member. Her melodious voice found a home in the singing group, The Harmonets, and her faith was as steadfast as her love for music. Lue was employed at Zikers Cleaners, where she was not just an employee, but a beacon of positivity and camaraderie. Beyond her professional and spiritual engagements, Lue's true accomplishment was the vast and loving family she nurtured.
Lue is survived by her children, Noah Rucker, Phillip Hobbs, Mindie (Willie) Rucker Smith, and Diane Rucker of South Bend, IN; her godchildren, Tina Norris of South Bend, IN and Kevin Martin of Kalamazoo, MI; her sisters-in-law, Sallie, Jackie, Sadie and Betty Jarrett of TN; her brothers-in-law, Paul (Linda) Jarrett of Ripley, TN and Robert Jarrett of Milan, TN. She was also the proud matriarch to 18 grandchildren, 83 great-grandchildren, and 35 great-great-grandchildren, each of whom held a special place in her heart.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, James Jarrett, her sons, Raymond Moore Jr., John B. Rucker Jr., Matt Rucker, Emanuel Rucker, Rufus Parker, and Isaiah Rucker; her parents, Emma Marshall and Minor Moore; her siblings, Nettie Young, Thelma Williams, Elizabeth Cooper, Emerson Moore, Amos Moore, Opa Moore, Charles Moore, and Minor Moore.
