Mark Hines Obituary

Mark Jerome Hines 58, born September 12, 1965, departed this earthly life on Saturday September 23, 2023.

Mark was known by friends and family as Hino, and Marky D.  He was the last of 13 siblings, raised in a God fearing home where church was a part of his up bringing.  He received the Lord at a young age where his journey started at Emmanuel Church of God in Christ, Pastor Willie Coats Sr. In the  latter years of his life he became a member of Jesus is Emmanuel, Pastor Wayne Watson.  Mark attended South Bend Community Schools, and was a 1983 graduate of Clay High School.  Mark’s various jobs was working at Bill Knapp Resturant, Imperial Stamping, and other jobs around South Bend IN.  Mark got his first on the job training at a young age working with his dad along with his brothers on their dad’s trash truck.

Growing up Mark loved music, singing, and playing the drums in church.  He loved being with family, and taking yearly family trips to the South for family reunions.  Mark loved basket ball, and was a big Notre dame football fan. Mark’s passion was spending time with his granddaughter, driving all types of automobiles, and he enjoyed his time of shooting dice especially winning.  Not only was he the life of the party, but he often made people smile and laugh as well.  He was a funny and caring person, he brought a smile with him when he entered a room, which would often make you smile and laugh, because Mark was quite the character.

Mark has been called to heaven’s home, and now at rest, proceeded in death by his parents, William, and Flora Hines, along with one sister, Delores Hines, and his 2 brothers, Obie, and Billy Hines.

Marky D. leaves to continue his legacy, one daughter, Demarcia Hines, and one granddaughter Serenity Fox of South Bend, IN. Mark also leaves behind to cherish, his precious memories, 3 brothers, Herman Hines, of Joliet Illinois, John Hines, (Mary) of Champagne ILL.  and Paul Hines, of Indianapolis Ind. 6 sisters, Florine Williams of Detroit MI.   Louise Overton, Mary Hines Bonds (Johnny), Evelyn King, Lenet Thomas, all of South Bend IN. and Janet Gunn(Richard) of Mishawaka IN.

Mark will not be forgotten by 15 nieces, 5 nephews, 3 aunts, and a host of relatives and friends.
