Mary Helen Hunt

Mary Helen Hunt, 79, of Elkhart, passed away on Friday, January 1, 2021, surrounded by family and friends. She was born February 19th, 1941, in Eudora, Arkansas. from the union of Rev. Arthur Clay Sr. and Annie Clay.

Mary married Robert L. Hunt on August 3, 1981.  She accepted Christ early in her adult life and was a member of Community Baptist Church.  Once she retired from Whitehall in Elkhart, Indiana she moved to Houston, Texas. While in Texas she started M&H Caregiving Service returning to Elkhart in 2015.  Mary is known for going out of her way to help anyone, being a beautiful dresser, and being spunky and sassy.  She had swag and was very creative.

She leaves to cherish her memory one sister, Annie B. Ditore of Logansport, Indiana; along with her children: Sacajawea and Robert Irving, Sandra and Alan Reeves, Tyrone and Wanda Hunt, George and Zaronda Hunt, Kimberly Kie, Robert and Shanell Hunt, Robert Hunt Jr., Emery Hunt, Lord Hunt, Anthony Hunt, Betty Shamley, Ivy Hunt, Lynette Joseph, Yolanda Hunt, Wileen Hunt, Verdell Evans, Eliza Rogers, Sheila Lopez, Loniel Lopez, Yolanda Lopez, Celeste Cotton; as well as a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and a host of family and friends including best friends Virgie White, Margaret House, Betty Mays, Mary Whitener, and Hattie Clark.

Mary is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Robert L. Hunt; her siblings: Willie Norris, Clarence Clay, Ike Clay, Moses David, Wilbert Clay, Joseph Clay, Ida Mae Louden, Oretha Davis, J.C. Calvin, and Alberta Gilbert; a special friend, Abe Bradley Jr.; and best friend, Olivia Pratcher.
