Mildred Gates, 66, of South Alonzo Watson Drive, South Bend, Indiana passed away Saturday, November 28, 2020, at her residence. Mildred was born in Chicago, Illinois to John Earl and DeCoter (Harris) Parker on March 19, 1954.
She married Raymond Homer Gates on September 21, 1978, in South Bend, Indiana. She was a member of Sweet Home Baptist Church. Her hobbies included singing, dancing, cooking, being around family, and playing bingo.
Mildred was preceded in death by her parents, John Earl & DeCoter Parker; her husband, Raymond Homer Gates; sister, Janice Esters; brothers: John Earl Parker Jr. and Steven Parker; nephews: Cornelius Williams and Phillip Parker; nieces: Jamica Parker, Charlotte Mayes, and Lakeshia Halliburton.
Survivors include her daughter, Kisey Gates; three sons: Raymond (Christina) Gates Jr., Michael H. Gates all of South Bend, Indiana and Brandon (Tia) Gates of Elkhart, Indiana; five grandchildren: Aniya, Jordyn, Korrie, Austin, and Cameron; five sisters: Barbara (OP) Gill, Peggy Williams (Tico) Jackson, Darlene (Sylvester) Mayes, Brenda (Rex) Taylor and Felicia (Wadell) Newman; three brothers: Danny (Alice) Parker, Michael Parker, and Jackie Parker; her best friend, Mrs. Louise, all of South Bend, Indiana; along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
