Mildred Sutherland

Mrs. Mildred L. Sutherland, 84, of Sunnyside Avenue, South Bend, IN., went home to be with the Lord on Friday, November 9, 2018 at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, Mishawaka, IN.

Mildred was born July 8, 1934 in Hickman, KY., to Jim and Zora Love who both preceded her in death along with a daughter; Gwendolyn Rene Giden, three sisters; Irillea Mitchell, Lola Mae Gray and Lois Jones and two brothers; James Love, Jr., and Willie B. Love.

Mildred united in holy matrimony with Clarence Sutherland on July 9, 1953 in Charleston, MO. She formerly worked as a dietician. She was a member of Bethlehem Church where she served on the Mother’s Board.

Survivors left to cherish her memory include her husband; Clarence Sutherland of South Bend, IN., one daughter; Delsie (Gordon) Young of Portland, OR., three sons; Michael (Diantha) Sutherland of Dallas, TX., Frederick (Linda) Sutherland of South Bend, IN., and Gregory Sutherland of Charlotte, NC., 15 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, one sister; Queen Esther James of South Bend, IN., along with a host of other relatives and friends.

Service Arrangements for Mrs. Sutherland will be Friday, November 16, 2018 at 12 Noon with a one-hour viewing prior at Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church.
