Mother Edna F. Davis

“I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.”

Mother Edna Faye Davis, 85, of South Bend gained her heavenly wings peacefully at her home on August 29, 2025, at 6:23 P.M surrounded by her beloved family.

Edna was born on May 14, 1940, in Foxworth, Mississippi, to Reverend Louis C. Peters and Willie Mae Youngblood Peters whom both preceded her in death. Edna was the last living child of this union.

In addition to her parents Edna was preceded in death by her loving husband of 65 years, Pastor Amos Davis, children Kenneth Wayne Davis, and Gladys Marie Davis, and her siblings Charles Ray Peters and Shirley Peters Hector.

She leaves to cherish her memories two daughters Willie Jean Peters and Marilyn Davis: three sons Amos (Jackie) Davis, Willie (Renee) Davis, and Jerry (Tonya) Davis, all of South Bend, Indiana. A sister-in-law Jacqueline Gholar Peters of Bogalusa, La. She was a cherished grandmother to 21 grandchildren, 64 great-grandchildren, and 44 great-great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. 

Mother was loved and called Mom by many. Mother Edna Davis was a devout woman of faith who continued serving the Lord and fighting the good fight of faith until her last breath. Under the leadership of her son Apostle Willie Davis of New Creation Praise and Worship Center, she proudly proclaimed to the World, “Not only is he my son, but he’s also my Pastor!”. She was an epitome of a warrior on the battlefield, a ray of sunshine that brightened the room every time she came through the church doors, and an example to many of how to serve the Lord with unwavering faith, known to ger family as “Faye’s Faith.
