Myrine Harris was born on September 29, 1930, to Pat Mentor and Ethel Lee Doss Rogers. She is the mother of five Daughters and one Son. Myrine is affectionately known as Rene, My, Mama, and Granny.
Prior to moving to South Bend, Indiana Myrine resided in Dallas, Texas. Shortly after moving to Indiana Myrine Harris married Gloster Harris. Myrine and Gloster remained married for 39 years until his home-going. She loved God and was a member of New Life Fellowship Ministry under the leadership of Apostle Charles Harris Sr. and Prophetess Betty Harris. She enjoyed her “old school” gospel music and would light up at the sound of it. Myrine worked tirelessly as a cook and managed many establishments in her lifetime. She was no stranger to hard work at home or on the job.
Myrine loved the finer things and spared no expense when it came to her grandchildren. She enjoyed shopping, traveling, and living life to the fullest. Myrine was small in stature but strong in character. She was the head of the family and she wore her crown well. She was never at a loss for words and she deposited so much wisdom and love into her family. She was loving and kind and anytime spent with her was time well spent. There are no words to describe how beautiful, special, or how much her family and friends love her. She will be deeply missed by all.
Myrine was proceeded in death by her husband, Gloster Harris; son, Richard Rodgers; stepsons: Kenneth Harris, Robert Harris; grandchildren: Anthony Lamar Carter, Jonathan Rodgers, Lorenzo Joel Walker, Satonia Wells, Tyrin Giden, Taleah Buckingham; 13 siblings: Viriece Mentor, Noris Mentor, Aj Mentor, Milton Mentor, Pat Mentor Jr., Charles A Rodgers, HB Rodgers, Lonie V Evans, Bertha Jobe, Laurine Mentor, Ethel Faye Ross, Oneta Fountain, Anison Rogers Jr.
She leaves to cherish her memory five daughters: Cordelia Anderson, Delorse (James) Wells, Elizabeth Ward, Darlene Farmer, Cynthia Harris; step-daughter, Brenda Land; 13 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, 17 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and family members.
