Novelene Flenoy, 84, of Rue Voltaire Street in South Bend, Indiana passed away January 8, 2022, at her residence following an illness. Novelene was born March 30, 1937, in Canalou, Missouri to Wiley and Vennie (Westbrook) Jones who preceded her in death; along with her daughter, Tonya Dorene Merritt; son Larry Pegus; two sisters: Jerrylene Adams and Viline Flenoy; brothers: Wiley Jones, Alice Jones, and Charles Jones; great-grandchild Demarius Abram.
Novelene was united in holy matrimony with Myron Flenoy in 1994 who preceded her in death in 1995. Novelene operated Gram’s Little Darling Day Care facility for 15 years. She was a former member of Sweet Home Baptist Church and presently worshiped at Temple of God Baptist Church.
Survivors include her daughter, Peggy Wright; and son, Ulice (Linda) Johnson both of Indianapolis, Indiana; five grandchildren: Lawana Taylor, Carla Edwards, Jayda Wright, Amber Johnson, and Spencer Johnson; great-grandchildren Shamika (Tim Passley) Harris, Tyeta (Jerome Jenkins) Yarbough, Michael Anderson, Jekaelah Foster, AJ Foster, Jordan Foster, Jordan Williams, Cammeron Johnson, Raine Johnson, Heaven Patterson and Spencer Johnson II; 13 great-great-grandchildren; two brothers: William (Pat) Jones of St. Louis, Missouri and Larry Jones of Sikeston, Missouri; special friend, Tommy Dotson; along with an abundance of nieces and nephews, including her “ride-or-die” niece, Delores Clark; and a host of other relatives and friends.
