Ora Harley, a beloved mother, a cherished grandmother, and a dear friend, recently passed away at the age of 77 in South Bend, Indiana. Ora was born to Willie and Laura Jefferson. She was a dedicated Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in the healthcare field for many years, touching the lives of countless patients with her compassion and care. After retiring, Ora continued her passion for nurturing by becoming a foster grandparent in the South Bend Community School Corporation and St. Margaret's House, where she lovingly cared for and mentored numerous little children.
Preceding her in death were her parents and several brothers and sisters. Ora's memory will forever live on in the hearts of those she touched throughout her life. She was a proud mother to four children: Brenda, Robert (Diane), Wanda (Terry), and David (Jackie). Ora's care and warmth also extended to a host of nieces and nephews, and she shared a lifelong bond with her childhood friend, Essie Mae Jackson.
Faith played a significant role in Ora’s life, and she was a faithful, longtime member of the Pilgrim Baptist Church. Ora is survived by her children and grandchildren who will continue to cherish her memory.
