Pastor Pamela Ann Sims was born in South Bend, Indiana on May 25, 1956 to the union of Rev. Roosevelt and Robbie Louise Conigan. Pamela was the third eldest child of eight siblings.
In 1969 their family relocated to Chicago, Illinois. Pamela confessed and had a personal relationship to life with Christ at a very young age. She was an avid participant at their church, Pilgrim Church of God in Christ, singing in the choir. In 2014, Pamela received her Certificate of Ordination for Pastoral Ministry by B. J. Holland of Ministry in Atlanta, Georgia.
Pamela graduated from Fenger High School in 1973 and was later married on June 12, 1974 to Herbert Dewayne Holman Sr. who preceded her in death. Through this union, Trana, Herbert Jr., and Tricia were conceived. She would later go to Olive Harvey College where she studied nursing. She worked as a nurse’s assistant for many years.
Pamela loved to travel, enjoyed family, going to church, singing and reading her Bible. She enjoyed spending quality time with her children and her grandchildren. She was a member of New Creation Baptist Church for many years until she relocated to Stone Mountain, Georgia. In 2012, she met and married Larry Sims.
Pamela was called home on Friday, November 27, 2020. She is preceded in death by her parents, Roosevelt and Robbie Conigan; her siblings: Carl and Robert Fisher; and her great-niece Breonna.
Pamela is survived by her loving husband, Larry Sims; her three children: Trana (Maurice) Mitchell, Herbert (Nicole) Holman, and Letricia Holman; her five stepchildren: Larrius Sims, Travarus Sims, Perdo Duncan, Marco Rhodes, and lastly, Ravel Rhodes. Her eight siblings: Richard (Geri) Conigan, Mellissa Williams, Pastor Clarence (Tomecca) Conigan, Jacqueline (Rev. Brian) Martin, Pastor Patricia (Edward) Williams, Patrice Conigan, Sheelah (Emory) Buie, and Dwayne Conigan; 13 grandchildren: Nesita, Daeshawn, Tashiana, Charrell, Jordan, Deaviana, Sade, Ayame, Sierra, Braylon, Peyton, Koleton, Cameron; 3 great-grandchildren: Ivontre, Tyson, Tayvion; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
