Robert James

Robert L. James, 62, departed this life Tuesday, May 22, 2018, in his home in South Bend, Indiana.

Robert James was born June 19, 1955 in Springville, GA. He was one of six children born to the union of the late Willie and Eddie Mae James.

In the early part of his life, Mr. James served in the United States Marine Corps. After serving, Robert then moved to South Bend, Indiana. He never married but enjoyed being around and deeply loved his daughters, grand-children, and family. He loved to eat, do yard- work, and make you laugh. He was deeply loved, well respect, down to earth, and an all-around jolly guy. He was always acknowledged by his full-name. He was blessed to meet his great-grandchildren before his passing and will be missed.

Robert is survived by: his daughter; Chirrikka (Minister Kevin) Kirk, four grand-children; Daresha Taylor, Darrn Taylor, Lillie Taylor, and Ronnie Hill, four great-grand-children; one sister; Martha (Otto) Willingham from Flint, Michigan; two brothers; Bobby (Lisa) James of Toledo, Ohio and Herbert James of South Bend, Indiana; along with a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Robert was preceded in death by his father Willie James; mother Eddie Mae James; and three brothers; Hubert, Eddie, and Willie James.
