Robert (Bob) Lee Parker was born on April 27, 1948, in Crowforfille, Arkansas.
Bob spent all of his career driving commercial vehicles, tour buses and semi trucks, in service to his occupation, he traveled the highways and byways for over 40 plus years. In his free time, he enjoyed gardening, remodeling and woodworking; most of all he truly loved spending time with his family.
He was united in holy matrimony to Mattie Francis Georgia of South Bend, Indiana on August 13, 2022. Robert departed this life on Friday October 6th at about 9:11 pm in his home with loved ones close.
Bob leaves to cherish his memory, his wife Mattie Francis, his children Velma Vortes of Chicago, Illinois, Chris (Velda) Foster of South Bend, Indiana, Megan Parker of Avon, Indiana, and a spiritual daughter Charlotte Williams of South Bend, Indiana, seven grandchildren, Latashia McPhee, Nicholas Satterfield, Rayjene Foster, Cheyenne Parker, Kailyn Parker-Love, Trinity Mitchell and Darius Jordan, and two great-grandchildren, Nyjah and Ny’elah Foster. Four siblings, Clara Taylor of West Memphis, Arkansas, Lula Mae Jeter, Rose Parker-James and John Parker all of South Bend, Indiana and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, church family and friends.
Robert had two daughters that preceded him in death, Vicky Parker, November of 1984 of Chicago, Illinois and Amy Parker-Mitchell December of 2014 of South Bend Indiana, both parents Janie and James R. Parker as well as three sisters and three brothers.
Robert loved the LORD and was a member of Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church of South Bend for over 40 years and later united with Greater Mount Calvary Missionary Baptist Church at 1047 Lincoln Way West in South Bend, and was honored to serve on the Deacon Board.
