Rosietta Diana Gadson-Jennings was born on February 5, 1963, to Mildred and Andrew Gadson Sr in South Bend, Indiana. Di, as she was affectionately known, was the 7th of 10 children.
Diana attended Benjamin Harrison Elementary, Washington High School, Ball State, Bethel and Oakland City Universities. Her love for learning led to numerous positions where she served as Bank Manager, Accounting Manager, Day Trader and Case Management Trainer. She was heavily involved in her community as a volunteer as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) for over five years; as President, Secretary and Treasurer of her neighborhood Homeowners Association for over fifteen years, and as an Advisory Member of the African American Women of Indiana for three years. Diana loved to travel and craft. She excelled at work and within her community, but her true love was her family.
Diana married the love of her life, Eric Jennings, 15 years ago. Diana had the pleasure of helping to raise Brittany, Tiffany, Chasade, Layla, Braylon, Millie and Chance. Her life was also filled with the love of Ilia King-Jennings and Jaylen Jennings. Diana loved her family and showered them with love whenever she could.
Diana grew up in the church and was baptized by the late Willie V. Williams and Deacon Andrew Gadson Sr. She loved God and served as the Sunday School Secretary, Church Financial Secretary and was a member of the Trustee Board at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church. She later united with Antioch Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Pastor Lee Montgomery where she served as the church Announcing Clerk, Trustee Board Member and Usher. Upon moving to Indianapolis, IN she joined Eastern Star under the leadership of Jeffrey Johnson, Sr.
Diana was preceded in death by her grandparents, Birdie Mae and Isaac Childress Sr, Rosietta and Daniel Gadson, her father, Andrew Gadson, Sr., her brothers Andrew Jr and Floyd (Yolanda) Gadson. She leaves to cherish her memory her loving husband, Eric Jennings, her mom, Mildred Gadson, her children, Ilia King and Jaylen Jennings, her siblings, Darrell (Rochelle) Gadson of Denver, CO, Marilyn (Rev. Fred) Brown of Mishawaka, IN, Gerald (Miranda) Gadson of South Bend, IN, Carol Denise Smith of South Bend, Rodney (Neva) Gadson of South Bend, Gregory Sr, (Jolanda) of Indianapolis, IN, Michelle (Tyrone) Pope of Indianapolis. Godchildren, Jasmine and Garrett Fields Jr., Brittany Gadson, Taini Diggins, Marissa Houston, and one namesake, Jream Rosietta Milons.
