Rufus Jerome Parker

Mr. Rufus Jerome Parker 59 of L Street Anchorage Alaska passed away on August 15, 2022.

Rufus was born January 10, 1963 in South Bend IN to Ruben Parker and Lue Bertha (James) Jarrett.  Rufus attended Studebaker Elementary School from 1970-1975, Jackson Middle School from 1976-1978 and Riley High School from 1978-1981. He worked as a Manager for McDonald’s from 1978-1982. He served his country in the United States Air Force for 23 years and was Honorably Discharged in 2006.

Rufus was married to Sandra Boyd several years and to that union were born two sons Jerome and Rodney.

Rufus was precede in death by his father Ruben Parker, step father James Jarrett, five brothers Raymond T. Moore, John Rucker Jr, Matt A. Rucker, Emanuel Rucker and Ishiah Rucker, sisters Ywonnie Jones and Justin Collins.

Rufus leaves to mourn his passing his mother Lue Bertha Jarrett of South Bend IN, two sons Jerome Parker of Kansas City KS and Rodney (Jalisa) Parker of Memphis TN, three grandchildren Jayla Parker, Karly Parker & Leyah Parker all of Memphis TN, his sisters Diana Rucker, Mindie Rucker (Willie) Smith, Dorthy(Warren) Williams and Maycie Parker all of South Bend IN,  Debra (Kenny) Anderson, Maralynn Russ, Ellouise Russ, Johnnie Russ, Nora Rucker, Susie Cructh, Thelma Rucker, Mola Rucker, Liza Rucker and Bertha Rucker all of Little Rock AR, brothers Noah (Beverly) Rucker, Ronnie (Mary Ann)Parker,  Larry (Karla) Parker, Dennis Parker, Philip (Joyce) Hobbs, Kevin (Olivia) Martin, Maurnie (Chris) Parker and  Uluess Parker all of South Bend IN, Walter (Debra) Parker of Indianapolis IN, Tracy Rucker and Joshua Rucker both of Arkansas along with a host of  nieces, nephews, aunts and uncle’s.

Services honoring the life, love, labor, and legacy for Mr. Parker will be held on Saturday September 3, 2022 12 Noon at Christ Temple C.O.G.I.C 1214 S. Michigan Street South Bend, Indiana 46601. Visitation will be held at 11 a.m. Burial with full Military Honors will be held at Mount Pleasant Cemetery. Arrangements have been lovingly entrusted with Alford’s Mortuary Inc.
