Sandra Lighthall Obituary

It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Sandra Lighthall, who left this world on Friday, May 12, 2023 at Memorial Hospital due to complications from surgery. She was a beacon of light, a pillar of strength, and the epitome of love. Although we mourn her loss, we celebrate the extraordinary life she lived and the everlasting impact she had on all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Born on April 25, 1954, to Georgiana and T.C. Jamison, adopted and raised as an infant by Leslie and Alfonso Grissom, who all preceded her in death.

Sandy brought joy and laughter wherever she went. She possessed a friendliness that was contagious and a heart that overflowed with compassion and empathy. Her unwavering love and dedication to her family and friends were the foundation of her being. She was a guiding force who nurtured and protected us with boundless love and support.

Family was the center of Sandy's universe, and she cherished every moment spent with her loved ones. Whether it was gathering around the dinner table, celebrating special occasions, or simply enjoying quality time together, she created an atmosphere of love and laughter. Her nurturing spirit will forever be imprinted in the hearts of her children, grandchildren and extended family, who will carry on her legacy of love and devotion.

Sandra married the love of her life, Vernon Lighthall on March 11, 1972. Together, they had two sons; Brian Lighthall and Kenneth Lighthall ( who proceeded her in death as an infant) and one daughter; Kathryn Lighthall (Howard "Shawn" Davis) five grandchildren, Briana Lighthall, Braylon Lighthall {who proceeded her in death as an infant), Aiden Davis, Gavin Davis, and Abriella Davis; one surviving brother T.C. Jamison; one surviving sister Sharon Jamison and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and other relatives and friends.

Beyond her role as a loving wife, mother, etc., she was a proud Post Office Clerk for 38 years. Her dedication and hard work were an inspiration to all who know her, and she served as a role model for determination, perseverance, and integrity.

In her free time, Sandy enjoyed going to local concerts and events, bowling, watching her game shows, soap operas and sports.
Sandy leaves behind a profound void that cannot be filled, but her spirit will continue to shine brightly in our hearts. As we grieve her loss, let us also celebrate the beautiful life she lived and the immense love she shared. Her legacy of kindness, compassion, and love will endure, reminding us to cherish every moment and hold our loved ones close.

Rest peacefully, dear Sandy. Your love will be forever etched in our souls, and your memory will guide us through the journey of life. You have touched our lives in immeasurable ways, and we are eternally grateful for the gift of having you in our lives.
