Sarah Softley Tarver Obituary

Sarah Carol Softley was born January 4, 1960 in Parrish, AL to the late Willie B. Softley and Thomas Colvin. She confessed Christ at an early age. she was a member of Peace Baptist Church until she graduated from Parrish High School in 1978 and moved to Chicago, IL.

After moving to Chicago, she met and married James Harvey in Holy Matrimony. To this union was born two children, Stefanie, and Steven Harvey. During this time, Sarah joined a church in Chicago, she also worked many years in retail until she retired from Walmart in 2023 due to her illness.

After the marriage dissolved, she moved her family to South Bend, IN in 2004, and rededicated her life to Christ at Greater St. Matthew Church, which is now, Life Changers South Bend, under the leadership of Pastor & Mother Charles King III where she grew mightily in her faith in God. There she wore many Hats, including serving as one of the ministers and as the Church Administrator.

Sarah has always loved and served The Lord, our Savior, by ministering and leading others to Christ. Sarah loved her family and friends and was also one who showed love to all so much that we nicknamed her, “The Social Butterfly.”
