Sherry Ann Simmons, devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt passed away peacefully from this life on April 3, 2024, surrounded by her family and loved ones.
Sherry’s life began in South Bend Indiana on November 8, 1954. She was born to WillaBelle Woods and Jewel Rogers. Sherry was united in marriage to Harold Simmons on April 20, 1985. In this union they shared to beautiful children Rashad Williams and Shannon Simmons. Sherry lived a beautiful life demonstrating resilience, grace, and unwavering strength throughout her journey. You could always find her reading books, doing crossword puzzles, & watching a murder- mystery movie. Sherry touched the lives of countless individuals with her infectious attitude, boundless love for her family, and compassionate spirit. She will be remembered for her feisty attitude, real rawness, perseverance & story telling.
Sherry will be deeply missed by her two children, Shannon Simmons & Rashaad Williams; her bonus daughter Shaunteka Alexander. Her grandchildren Rashaad Donaurice, Mary Etta Rochelle, Mamie, Eziah,Deliah,Zaleigh & Ezekiel. Her great great grandchildren, Kania Williams, Na’Riyah Williams & Sámara Williams; Her siblings, Greg Rogers of Rochester, New York, Ray (Lisa) Jackson, Fay Swanson, Phyllis Johnson, Cressa Alexander, Crystal (Joe) Donaldson, Jewels Rogers all of South Bend IN. Sharon Rogers and Conrad Jackson both of Indianapolis, IN. Her Aunts Annell Waters & Marquita Parahams. Two special nieces Monica Crawford & Aisha Patton-Avance. Her special cousins JoAnn Rogers, Charan Richardson, & Marlene Scott. Her best-friend Tammy Hampton along with her fury baby Rummier. Sherry joins her soulmate Harold Simmons in heaven along with her parents, Jewel Rogers & Willabelle Jackson. Her Siblings Lorenzo Rogers, & Kimmey Joe. Her nephew Quest Jackson. Her niece Shareita Patton. Also proceeding her in death is her Grandparents, Williams (Sade) Woods, her Grandmother Ella Mae (Big Momma) Williams & step-father Curtiss Jackson.
Her memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing her. A celebration of Sherry's life will be held on Friday, April 12, 2024 at Alford’s Funeral Home with visitation starting at 1 pm & funeral services beginning at 2pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Simmons Family in her honor. Though Sherry may no longer be with us in body, her spirit will continue to inspire and guide us each day.
