Steve Driver, 93, of South Bend, Indiana, passed away on March 18, 2020. He was born to parents Bertha (Walker)Driver and Henry Driver, on September 3, 1926, in Hughes, Arkansas.
Steve was a veteran of World War II of which he served proudly. After serving, he worked as a factory line worker at Studebaker until they closed and then went on to General Sheet Metal as a sheet metal fabricator until he retired in 1992. Steve was a trusted member of Greater Friendship Missionary Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon and Treasurer for many years. Steve was also a proud, long time member of the Free and Accepted Masons.
Steve met Mary Etta Redding in 1970. They were married on June 17, 1972, in South Bend, Indiana. Together they loved and raised a blended family of 12 Children. Pearline Driver, 2 children, 4 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild. Stephany Driver Williams, 2 children, 3 grandchildren. Steve Driver Jr. 4 children, 4 grandchildren. Cleveland Driver, 2 children, 1 grandchild. Wayman (Jackie) Redding, 2 children, 4 grandchildren. Marsha Redding Lark Mack, 2 children, 9 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild. David (Stephanie) Redding, Donald (Sophia) Redding, 7 children, 3 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild. Dennis Redding, Lori Redding Bradford (Willie) Rogers, 3 children, 8 grandchildren. DuWayne (Sonya) Redding, 8 Children, 1 grandchild. Karen Driver (Jason) Kennedy, 4 Children. Steve has 1 surviving sibling, Clyde Driver, Brother.
Steve was preceded in death by Mary Etta Driver, Wife, Bertha Driver, Mother, Henry Driver, Father, Cleveland Driver, Brother, A.D. Driver, Brother, Eddie B, Driver, Brother, Henry Sonny Driver, Brother, and Bertha Driver, Sister. Reed Carl Lark, grandson. James Devon Dillard, grandson.
