Taneisha Yvonne McKinstry, age 44, of South Bend, Indiana, entered eternal rest on March 20, 2026. She was born on October 26, 1981, in South Bend, Indiana, to Earline Selmon and Bobby McKinstry.
Taneisha was educated in the South Bend Community School Corporation and attended Washington High School. She later worked at Linden Grill, where her warm spirit, kind heart, and strong work ethic left a lasting impression on all she encountered. She found joy in cooking, dancing, and bringing happiness to others. Above all, she cherished her family; her children and grandchildren were the center of her world and her greatest blessing.
She was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Earline Selmon; paternal grandparents, Mother Mary Walker and Tommy Lee Grove; aunts Della Selmon, Juanita McKinstry, Tyree Grove, and Terria Grove; uncles Johnny B, Michael, and Larry McKinstry; and her nephew, Jasani Taylor.
She leaves to cherish her memory her maternal grandmother, Bessie Selmon; her father, Bobby McKinstry Sr; her children, Tashaunia Thomas, Dewana McKinstry, Michele (Ricky) Phillips, and Marshawn (Jackie) Phillips; her grandchildren, Jayden White, Dakota Murphy, Messiah Phillips, Daymir Johnson, and Mekhi Phillips; brothers Landis Byrd, Bobby McKinstry Jr, Larry McKinstry, Yul Lee, Willie Lee; Sisters, Juanica (Damone) Windmon, Tasheca (Sir) Brown, Tawana Bloch, Natosha Blake, Chantell Irons; aunts Geneva McKinstry, Jan McKinstry, Josalyn (Joe) Selmon Dunlap, Laura Selmon, Jackie Wallace, and Justice (Jessie) Selmon, Hilda Selmon; uncles Louis (Phyllis) Hogan, Steven (Bonnie) Selmon, Brad Selmon, Ray Charles, David McKinstry, and Tony Grove; godmothers: Susan (Ronnie) Webb, Shirley Gordon, and Margret ‘GiGi’ King God sisters, Shayla and Kayla; God brothers, Dwight and Darron and Bonus Mom: Rosalyn Thomas; special cousins, ShantaLeigha Johnson, Jermaine (Maggie) Weathers, Louis (Tyangela) Hogan and Phillip (Ashley) Hogan, Leon Burnett, and Deval Jacobs; Best Friends: Damine Bew and Dallas Patterson and a large host of other relatives and friends whom she loved very much.
The family extends heartfelt appreciation to Cameron, John, Ashley, Kiara, Jasmine, Brooke, Davonda, Devin, Teionna and Sasha for their love, prayers, and support during this time of sorrow.
