Tonya Ann Benson

On June 7, 2025, our beloved Tonya Ann Benson, 52, courageously embarked on her heavenly journey from her residence in South Bend, Indiana. Tonya, born on October 2, 1972, in the same city, she was a beacon of love, compassion, and unwavering strength. Her life was a testament to the enduring power of faith, with the adoration for her family at its core. In her own unique way, Tonya emulated the biblical verse in 1 Corinthians 16:14, "Let all that you do be done in love."

Tonya was an extraordinary individual who lived her life with fervor and dedication despite her disability. She was never one to be subdued by her circumstances, instead, she rose like a phoenix, time and time again, embodying resilience. I often referred to her as a cat that has nine lives for, she had a remarkable knack for overcoming adversity with grace and a smile. Tonya's love for her family was paramount, and she dreamt of bringing everyone together under one roof. Her compassionate spirit and loving nature will forever be etched in the hearts of those who had the privilege to know her.

Tonya is survived by her loving daughters, Sonya Balsley; and Kenya Balsley; And Tanya Benson; And our loving dad Amos foster; And Her caring sisters, Sherise Wright; And Kesha wright; And Tamika Benson; And her caring brother Charles D Wright; And her caring niece Saviana Wright; And her caring nephews, Treshawn wright, And Sean wright;  She was preceded in death by her father, James Benson, Jr., and her mother, Alma Jack. Despite her departure, Tonya's indomitable spirit and the memories she crafted will stay alive in the hearts of her loved ones.
