Travis Lamarr Jackson was born September 16, 1967, in Elkhart, Indiana to Pauline Mays and James Arthur Jackson.
At an early age, he became a member of Canaan Baptist Church. Travis graduated from Elkhart Memorial High School where he was well known and loved.
After graduating High School Travis went to work for Godfrey Marine where he worked for 25 years, and from there he went to work for Elkhart Community Schools for the past 11 years.
Travis ‘Bonesta’ Jackson was a comedian. He loved to entertain and was the entertainer! His favorite saying was: “I’m the Bonesta, leave me Alonsta!!” I tell you that brotha loved and I mean LOVED that porch and he would say: “The porch is open”.
Travis leaves to cherish fond memories: his loving and faithful wife of 31 years, Vivian Jackson; three children: Tia (Brandon) Gates, Tyris Jackson and Tevin Jackson all of Elkhart; five grandchildren: Jordyn, Austin, Korrie, Cameron and Caysen all of Elkhart, Indiana. He also leaves to cherish his memories: father, James Arthur (Mary) Jackson; brother: Kenny Jackson; sister, Sharon (Edward) Hollis all of Fort Wayne, Indiana; and sister, Beverly Mays of Jackson, Tennessee.
Travis was preceded in death by his mother, Pauline Mays; his maternal grandparents: James Ivory and Mary Bell (Taylor) Ivory; his paternal grandparents: Herman and Mae Ruby Jackson; and his nephew, Brian Crayton.
