Mr. Troy Andre Davis, affectionately known to many as "Grey Eyes," was born on the 25th of May, 1963, in Chicago, Illinois.
His life was a testament to determination, resilience, and a love for the simple joys in life. Known for his piercing grey eyes that reflected a soul of kindness and wisdom, Troy left an indelible mark on those who had the privilege of experiencing his warmth and friendship. A man of many talents, Troy was not only a skilled maintenance worker but also a certified phlebotomy technician, having graduated from Ivy Tech. After retiring from his post in Atlanta, Georgia, in 2023, he settled down in White Settlement, Texas, where he passionately pursued his hobby of building and collecting model cars. His accomplishments were not defined by his degrees or professional accolades but by the love and respect he garnered from his friends and family, which was his greatest achievement.
As the Bible says, "A good name is more desirable than great riches; to be esteemed is better than silver or gold." (Proverbs 22:1) Troy is survived by his dear sisters Annette (Nola) Davis of Forth Worth, TX, Sharon, and April Davis both of Mishawaka, IN , and his brothers Jerry Davis (Carrie),Wayne Davis, Ronald Davis, and Kenneth Davis. He is preceded in death by his loving parents, James and Rosemary Davis, and his siblings Tony Davis, Sheila Davis, and James Jr.
Troy's life will be celebrated on the 28th of December, 2024, at 11:00 am EST at Alford's Mortuary, 1222 Napier Street, South Bend, Indiana, 46601. As we honor and remember Troy, we are reminded of another verse, "Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted." (Matthew 5:4). May we find solace in this promise and celebrate Troy's life with joy and thanksgiving. We invite you to share your memories and photographs of Troy on his memorial page. His story is not just in the dates and details of his life, but in the laughter, lessons, and love he shared. Let's continue to honor and remember Troy, for his spirit lives on in each story told and every photo shared.
