Willa Dixon Obituary

 Willia Mae Dixon, affectionately known as Betty, peacefully passed away on September 21, 2024, at the age of 85.

She was a cherished mother, grandmother, and friend to many. Betty's kind and caring nature, along with her heart of gold, endeared her to all who knew her. She devoted her life to raising her nine children – five girls and four boys – with boundless love and compassion. Her family brought her immense joy, and she treasured every moment spent with her over 150 grandchildren.

Born to Rev. Willie Smith and Doshee Jackson, Betty inherited a strong work ethic and a deep love for her family. She was a source of strength and support for those in her life, always willing to offer a helping hand or lend a listening ear. Betty will be fondly remembered for her warm hugs, infectious smile, and unwavering zest for life. Her legacy of love and kindness will endure in the hearts of all who were touched by her presence.

She is survived by her nine children: Demetria Puckett(Lenard), Demetrius Smith, Doshell Johnson, Linda L. Williams(Fred), Carlita R. Sikes(Joe), Andre M. Williams(Tesha), Deneen F. Hewitt(Chauncey), George E. Williams(Traci),and Joshua M. Williams. Willia is preceded in death by her parents Rev. Willie Smith and Doshee Jackson, husband Gordon Dixon. Siblings, sister Dorthy Hatchett(Johnny), brothers Emmanuel Smith(Louise), and Earl Smith Sr. Beloved nephew Earl Jackson Jr. and beloved granddaughter Andre’One Williams. Rest in peace, dear Betty. Your memory will be cherished always, and your absence deeply felt. Arrangements have been entrusted with Alford's Mortuary Inc.
