William Dean Merriweather Jr. was born on June 5th, 1970 to the late Starlet Scott Merriweather and Cecil Dean Jones. He passed away on May 23, 2022 at 3:15am at Memorial Hospital following a heart failure battle.
Dean was a proud father, brother, and uncle. He leaves behind to cherish his precious memories his son William Dean Merriweather III & daughter Brandy Star Merriweather.
Dean had a generous heart and a love for people. Amongst many skills, Dean had a passion for Culinary. After obtaining his high school diploma and joining Grand Rapids Job Corp Center he obtained a diploma in culinary arts and entered the work force as Chef Dean. He later utilized skills and worked at several RV companies in the Michiana area.
Dean was a protective, humorous, and loving older brother to his siblings sisters Ernestine Merriweather (Clarkston, GA), Josephine (Gregory) Merriweather Brown (South Bend, IN), brother Amir (Kimberly) Merriweather (South Bend, IN), God sisters Angela Weatherspoon (South Bend, IN), and Dayonae Lenoir (Indianapolis, IN) and special brother Micah (Annette) Caldwell (South Bend, IN). He also leaves behind Grandmother Hattie Jones Brown (Springfield, IL), favorite cousin Ronald "Bam" Coleman (Springdale, Ohio), His Kid’s Godfather Terrance Prince as well a host of (6)nieces, (6)nephews, aunts, uncles , cousins and friends.
Dean was preceded in death by his parents, maternal grandparents, grandmother Josephine Scott, & grandfather William Harvey Scott Sr., paternal grandfather Rev. George B. Jones Sr.
Services will be held on Saturday May 28, 2022 4 P.M in the chapel of Alford’s Mortuary, 1222 Napier Street, South Bend, IN 46601. Visitation will be held at 3 P.M. Reverend Henry “Red” Miller will bring the Word.
