William Ray "Spoons" Thomas is the 6th child to Herbert and Margaret Thomas, Sr. Ray was a quiet spirit with a big heart. He also spoke the truth. He loved family. He loved making you laugh with his jokes and funny stories. He could make you laugh until you cried. He was that natural comedian. He'd make you laugh when you were down and needed your spirit lifted. Ray, also had some cousins who, when they all got together, as we used to say, would have you "rolling."
Ray "Spoons" had a genuine love for music. He loved music from vinyl records, 8 tracks, cassettes to Cd's and all the internet devices. He stayed current, yet he was an avid fan of "old school". He and Kevin Hall would get together and collaborate on different styles of music. Both could keep the party jumping. His sister Mary taught all the siblings to dance, yet Ray wanted to remain the music man. He would always let you make suggestions, and he always had something you would love to hear. It did not matter if it was a party or just listening to the vibe, everyone enjoyed his choice of music. Ray retired as a machine operator in 2022.
He was a believer in our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He went to sleep at West Bend Nursing and Rehabilitation.
Ray, beloved son, brother, cousin, uncle and friend is survived by two siblings: Robert Thomas, Sr. and Rosalyn Thomas of South Bend, IN. Ray leaves a host of cousins, nephews, nieces, great nephews, great nieces and friends.
Those who have preceded Ray to eternal rest are his parents, Herbert and Margaret Thomas Sr. his sisters: Mary B. Lacy and Irma Jean Thomas. Brothers: Herbert Thomas, Jr., Carlton Thomas Sr. and Yul B. Thomas, Sr. Friends who Ray had built relationship with are Michael Coleman, Diane Cousette, Becky Dickens, Sam "June" Dickens, Kevin A. Hall, Mike Love, David "Poochie" Martin and Larry "Chuck" Warren.
